Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake leaks ahead of Goodwood Festival of Speed debut
Fri, 29 Jun 2012First photo of the production Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake ahead of its debut at this weekend’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Update: As expected, the Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake has now been officially revealed, together with a raft of photos.
The extraordinarily good looking Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake – the CLS Estate – has been running around motore shows as a concept for what seems like years.
But this weekend Mercedes are planning to reveal the production version of the CLS at the Goodwood Festival of Speed ahead of its launch in November, and we have the first photo.
Looking just like the concept – which is very good – the CLS Shooting Brake is pure CLS from its nose to the windscreen, and pure coupe estate from there on back.
Inside there’s lots of room for ‘stuff’ with up to 1550 litres of space with the seats down, but this is no E-Class Estate and style is the key so you can even order your boot space with a polished wood and aluminium floor – so practical.
The back seats are two individual chairs, although you can perch some poor unsuspecting soul in the middle if you must. Up front is pure CLS, which means less corporate Mercedes and more style Mercedes.
Mercedes are saying there will be just two models on offer at launch – the CLS 250 CDI with 210bhp and the CLS 350 CDI with 261bhp – yet we’re told Mercedes are planning to show the CLS C63 AMG Shooting Brake at Goodwood.
More later today when Mercedes reveals official details of the new CLS Shooting Brake.
