Mercedes S-Class Maybach spied (video)

The new Mercedes S-Class is already starting to proliferate, with a wide range of engines, two wheelbases and the CL Coupe’s replacement – the new S-Class Coupe – already hitting the market. But Mercedes are far from finished extending the S-Class franchise, and we’ve got two more versions of the S-Class Saloon – the Maybach and Pullman – still to come, and the arrival of the S-Class Convertible still to come.
And now it looks like the S-Class Maybach – effectively a replacement for the ill-fated Maybach brand – is getting closer to debut with this S-Class Maybach spotted testing at the Nurburgring.
Expected to be based on the range-topping Mercedes S65 AMG, the S-Class Maybach will get more room in the back (as you can see in the video) as well as an even more upmarket interior than the already sumptuous S-Class.
But even though the new S-Class Maybach will find its home chauffeuring the well-heeled around, it looks like Mercedes are keen to ensure it can still be thrown around with a degree of aplomb as the video of the Maybach being chucked around the Nurburgring (below) shows.
It seems likely the new S-Class Maybach will arrive in 2015 – probably at the Geneva Motor Show – as a replacement for the Maybach 57, with the even longer S-Class Pullman following (perhaps at Frankfurt) to take the place of the Maybach 62.
