Michelin Challenge Design 2010
Mon, 09 Feb 2009Michelin Challenge Design (MCD), now entering its eighth year, is inviting designers young and old to compete in the 2010 Challenge. The first step is completing the online questionnaire, available online until April 15, 2009.
The theme for the competition is Electrifying! Beautiful, Innovative and Radiant, recognizing that there are a variety of technologies emerging in the design and engineering fields to support the creation of electric vehicles.
Entrants are asked to develop an aesthetically appealing passenger vehicle featuring an alternative powertrain with one or more electric-driven components, using innovative technologies, materials, electronics, and shapes and sizes, in new and unprecedented ways.
The passenger vehicle concept should dramatically improve energy efficiency, minimize environmental impact and satisfy consumer needs for an attractive and useable vehicle. Additional consideration will be given to entries that include a separate rendering of the tire and wheel component assembly.
To be considered for the Challenge, entrants need to provide a concise 50-100 word overview statement indicating how their transportation design solution will meet the Michelin Challenge Design theme requirements. Photographs, drawings and/or computer-generated images should also be submitted.
These will be reviewed by a panel of judges who will award points to the concepts based on their relevance to the theme, originality, design value, and quality and development potential.
As always, the competition is open to residents of any country. If, however, the entrant is not a legal adult in their state, province or country, their parents or legal guardians will be required to sign the MCD questionnaire and entry form.
Submit the questionnaire, photographs, drawings and/or computer-generated images of your transportation design solution by visiting www.michelinchallengedesign.com
