Three new Minis shown at Geneva

BMW unveiled several world-firsts at Geneva 2007: a Works kit for the new Mini, the entry-level One, and the new Mini Cooper D. The new Works option is an aftermarket job for the new Mini; it increases power of the Cooper S to 192bhp and adds numerous styling tweaks. A more powerful Works version, which will be built on the production line and boast more than 210bhp, will be added later, officials promised. The entry-level Minis will be launched in mid-April. While the One is a predictable package with its 1.4-litre engine and 95bhp peak power output, the 1.6-litre Cooper D is a little more special, with 110bhp, 192lb ft and just 118g/km of CO2. And BMW sales boss Michael Ganal confirmed that last year's Mini Concept Geneva - an reinterpretation of the Issigonis-era Traveller - will make production badged as the Clubman.
