Mobius Motors builds a car for the developing world
Thu, 05 Jul 2012Mobius Motors of Kenya claims that it is building the car that will transform Africa by offering reliable, rugged transportation to the masses. Its Mobius Two is a simple, serviceable, tube-frame car designed specifically for the African market. It's also awesome.
Mobius said it hopes that its cars will bring mobility to Africa's poorest areas and help stoke economic development on the continent. Subpar roads and extreme poverty severely limit access to health care, education and basic necessities. So, Mobius is offering financing and free consulting to entrepreneurs who plan to use the Two as the basis for a new business.
According to its Web site, Mobius is hiring. Positions such as “Automotive Designer,” “Operations Director” and “Financial Director” are among the 13 jobs listed as open as of this writing. To be considered for most of the available positions you'll need experience. But compared with jobs at, say, Ford or General Motors, the requirements are minimal.
