More powerful Audi TT RS and new Audi RS4 Avant at Geneva
Tue, 31 Jan 2012Audi TT RS to get more power
Audi will debut a more powerful TT RS and a new Audi RS4 with 444bhp at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
There’s been talk for some time that there will be an Audi TT RS Plus arriving sometime soon with extra horses, no back seats and a raft of weight saving measures – the Audi TT RS Plus. But we have our doubts.
We have our doubts because we think it more likely that Audi are simply going to give the TT RS a freshen up and give it the same amount of power our colonial cousins get in the US. That now seems even more likely after leaked reports show that the Audi TT RS will appear at Geneva with 360PS – just what the US TT RS gets.
Of course, this is Audi and they’re quite capable of filling every tiny niche they can think of. But our belief that the TT RS Plus will turn out to be just the TT RS with US levels of power seems to be vindicated.
Also on offer from Audi at Geneva will be the new Audi RS4 Avant. The same set of leaked documents show the Audi RS4 Avant listed for Geneva with the 4.2 litre V8 with 444bhp, which sounds like it will be pretty much the same powertrain as the RS5.
All will be confirmed at Geneva – if not before.
