Motorway drink-driver to be sentenced
Fri, 28 Mar 2014A CARE ASSISTANT who admitted drink-driving the wrong way along a motorway will be sentenced today.
Katy Homer, 26, is due to attend Wolverhampton Crown Court after pleading guilty to charges of driving with excess alcohol and dangerous driving.
CCTV footage of the incident showed oncoming drivers flashing their headlights as Homer drove her Vauxhall Astra north on a southbound section of the M5 in the West Midlands.
Traffic police pulled her over after she exited the M5 in West Bromwich, having joined the motorway in nearby Oldbury.
Officers were dealing with a separate traffic matter in the early hours of December 4 last year when they spotted Homer, of Clent View Road, Halesowen, leaving the motorway via an entry slip road.
