Neiman Marcus Christmas Book features Chevrolet Camaro convertible
Tue, 05 Oct 2010Sure, declaring the start of the holiday shopping season at the beginning of October might seem a tad early. But for enthusiasts who have seen pages 44-45 of the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book, the holidays can't come soon enough.
Though the production 2011 Chevrolet Camaro convertible won't debut until the Los Angeles auto show next month, a limited-edition version is available through the luxury retailer's holiday catalog.
The Neiman Marcus edition of the convertible has a deep Bordeaux exterior color that changes in response to natural light.
“In low light, it appears almost black with a touch of deep violet,” said Tom Peters, Chevrolet design director. “In sunlight, a little bit of red and burgundy appear.”
The interior features amber-colored leather seats and black leather side panels. Red accents appear throughout the interior, such as on the steering wheel and the shifter knob.
And, of course, under the hood sits a 6.2-liter V8. When paired with a six-speed manual transmission, the car achieves 426 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque, while the six-speed automatic delivers 400 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque.
The Neiman Marcus Chevrolet Camaro convertible is priced at $75,000--quite a jump from the base price of the production model, $30,000.
The convertible will go on sale at noon EDT on Oct. 19 and will be ready for delivery in spring 2011. To place a reservation, call (877) 662-6276.
The Jaguar XJ and the BMW 7-series have also appeared in the Christmas book in recent years.
