New 2013 Bentley Continental Flying Spur arrives early
Tue, 19 Feb 2013The new Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed has arrived early, ahead of a reveal at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
Just as we hoped, Bentley had made the new Flying Spur more visually appealing with a look that shows echoes not just of the latest Continental GT but of the range-topping Mulsanne too.
The redesign of the exterior brings a more focused, sharper look to Bentley’s Flying Spur and addresses about the only real moan we had of the old Flying Spur – the shape of the rear end.
Now, the back of the Flying Spur looks much more cohesive and far less blobby, with new tail lights, bumper, boot and haunches all conspiring to make the tail as appealing as the nose.
Under the bonnet will be the usual 6.0 litre W12 – and a new W12 Flying Spur Speed, an epic car, bound to follow in due course – and the new V8 for a sportier take on the Flying Spur before the Spur Speed arrives.

Inside, Bentley has taken the fixtures, fitting and equipment up a notch – just as they did on the new Continental GT – and the result, to our eyes at least, means Bentley will find shifting the Flying Spur a much easier prospect with this latest model (although what a better looking, more refined Flying Spur will do for Mulsanne sales, we don’t like to think).
The 2013 (or 2014 if you’re on the wrong side of the Pond) Bentley Continental Flying Spur will debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month.
