New Audi RS4 Avant costs £54,925
Tue, 12 Jun 2012Audi has revealed that the new RS4 Avant complete with 444bhp from its 4.2 litre V8 – will cost £54,925 in the UK.
The new Audi RS4 Avant got its reveal at this year’s Geneva Motor Show and is the only RS4 body style you’re going to get. Unless you count the RS4 in coupe guise that Audi call the RS5.
But marketing nonsense to achieve higher prices apart, the new RS4 Avant is an appealing machine. A healthy 444bhp form its 4.2 litre V8 translates in to a 0-62mph of 4.7 seconds, putting it within a gnat’s of the Mercedes C63 AMG.
The new RS4 Avant is also a touch cheaper than the C63 AMG at £54,925 (the C63 AMG costs £56,575), has the more practical estate shape and gets a 4WD quattro platform too. Which gives it a proper edge over the C63 AMG, although you’ll probably be at the chiropractor more often in the Audi than the Mercedes.
Standard kit on the RS4 includes Audi’s electromechanical steering which cleverly makes small steering adjustments under braking to keep you in a straight line, 19″ alloys, DVD SatNav, Bluetooth, leather and Alcantara and bits of carbon fibre on the dash (although you can opt for aluminium, Piano Black or stainless steel mesh).
But if you’re intent on spending more than the list price of £54,925, you can dig deep in to Audi;s RS4 options. These include carbon ceramic brakes, the Sports Package – which includes Dynamic Ride Control, 20″ alloys, and sports exhaust for £2,250 – and the Technology Package Advanced which offers HDD Sat Nav with Jukebox, adaptive cruise, advanced parking system with rear view camera and Lane Assist.
The new Audi RS4 Avant is now available to order in the UK.
