New BMW 7 Series costs from £58k

The facelifted BMW 7 Series will arrive in the UK in September and cost from £58,118 for the 730d rising to £104,050 for the 760Li M Sport.

We had the reveal of the new BMW 7 Series (well, a facelift) earlier this week, but what we didn’t have was an arrival date in the UK or any prices. But now we do.

The facelifted 7 Series will go on sale in the UK on 22nd September (very German – an exact date) and will offer pretty much what we expected in terms of the available range.

On the petrol front the UK won’t be getting the 730i, as we expected, with the petrol range kicking off instead with the 740i at ££61,505. Other petrols include the ActiveHybrid7 from £66,040, 750i from £74,340 and the range-topping 760Li from £101,805.

The diesel range will be limited in the Uk to the 730d and 740d with no 750d on offer; a real shame. The 730d, which will probably be the big seller, starts at £58,115 and the 740d at £65,305.

BMW has made some good tweaks to what is, in effect, the 2013 7 Series. Cosmetically it’s not a huge change but there are plenty of new toys, a better interior and, we’re promised, a better ride compromise than the current 7 Series.

Whether that will all be enough to knock the XJ off its perch as the UK’s best selling car in this sector is debatable, but the new 7 Series has certainly been made more appealing. We just wish we had the option of the 750d too.
