New Bentley Continental GT Speed Goodwood FoS Debut
Wed, 13 Jun 2012The new Bentley Continental GT Speed will debut at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed and feature in the daily Michelin Supercar Run.
Bentley sent us a press release last night with their news for the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed, which included the news that they will debut a new model and that it would feature in the Supercar run. So what is it?
Bentley weren’t going to tell us, but Goodwood weren’t so shy. A quick check with Goodwood has the new Bentley Continental GT Speed listed as a UK debut at the FoS, together with the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Vitesse, Infiniti EMERG-e, Maserati GranTurismo Sport, Toyota GT-86, Savage Rivale, Vauxhall Astra VXR and Infiniti FX Vettel. So now you know.
What Bentley has managed to squeeze out of the new GT Speed we don’t yet know, but with the latest Continental offering performance close to the old model Speed, it should be impressive. Expect to see something over 620bhp and a 0-62mph dipping under the 4.0 second mark – Supersports levels of performance.
Also on offer from Bentley at Goodwood will be the new 4.0 litre Continental GT V8 (pictured above), the contentious EXP 9 F SUV Concept (which we’re told won’t be moving), the Mulsanne Mulliner Driving Specification Mulsanne and a classic Bentley or two including the Bentley Speed 8 and the 4½-litre supercharged “Birkin Blower” Bentley.
And just to make sure their cars are properly piloted Bentley will have on hand Derek Bell, Juha Kankkunen and Guy Smith.
A proper Bentley-fest at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
