New Hyundai i30 gets 5 Star Euro NCAP rating
Wed, 23 May 2012New Hyundai i30 gets 5 Star Euro NCAP
The new Hyundai i30 is back in the news with an impressive 5 Star Euro NCAP rating in the latest round of tests.
The new Hyundai got off to a good start when VW’s boss complained it was too well made, and since then Hyundai has gone on to prove that point by letting a ‘Flange’ of Baboons loose on the new i30 without any significant harm – to baboons or the i30.
Now the official word on the i3o’s quality – certainly in terms of safety – comes with the award of 5 Stars in the latest round of Euro NCAP testing, making the new i30 one of the safest cars in the C-segment.
The new i30 managed a 90 per cent score in the child occupant category with maximum points in both 18-month-old (using Britax-Romer Baby Safe Plus) and 3 year-old (Britax-Romer Romer Duo Plus) tests and also racked up 90 per cent in the adult occupancy test.
Maximum marks were also given for the i30′s bumper protection for pedestrians’ legs with an 86 per cent mark in the safety assist category.
Hyundai’s Allan Rushforth commented:
The five-star rating for New Generation i30 further demonstrates our commitment to providing the highest levels of safety for Hyundai customers. It’s another reason for motorists to consider the European-built New Generation i30, with safety, first-class quality, efficiency and generous specification among the car’s impressive list of attributes.
So, Hyundai already has Mr Winterkorn onside, Mr Ross’s Baboons couldn’t spoil the party and Mr NCAP rates it five stars. It’s getting hard to find much to criticise Hyundai’s new i30 for.
We’ll have to get more imaginative.
