New Mazda6 teased in video
Tue, 10 Jul 2012The new Mazda 6 – previewed by the Takeri Concept and due to arrive at the Paris Motor Show in September - gets its first tease from Mazda.
It’s probably fair to say that we have a pretty good idea what the 2013 Mazda6 is going to look like.
Mazda has been trailing the new Mazda6 with the Mazda Takeri Concept – which had a recent outing at the Geneva Motor Show in March – but now we get the first tease of what is definitely the Mazda6 and not the Takeri in a video from Mazda.
But even though Mazda want you to know this really is the new Mazda6, if you think Takeri concept you won’t be far off with Mazda saying the new Mazda6 incorporates many of the KODO design cues from the Takeri concept.
Akari Tamatani – Mazda’s Chief Designer – said:
The deeply sculpted face with sharp eyes gazing forward, defined by the chrome ‘signature wing’, instantly conveys to onlookers that this must be Mazda’s new flagship sedan”
And we have to agree with him. The Takeri Concept is a good looking car.
Expect it to arrive in 2013 in Europe and as a 2014 model in the US after a debut at Paris in September, and although we don’t have a price for the new Mazda6 yet it’s unlikely Mazda will be bumping prices too much.
