New Nissan Note revealed in Japan
Tue, 17 Jul 2012The new Nissan Note has been revealed in Japan, previewing the Nissan Note for Europe which will debut in 2013.
The new Nissan Note has been revealed in Japan, and although it gives us a good idea of what Europe can expect from its new Note which will arrive in 2013, there will be differences.
It’s expected that the new Nissan Note for Europe will more closely resemble the Nissan Invitation Concept we saw at the Geneva Motor Show in March, but the JDM Note also gets some of the styling cues from the Innovation concept.
Perhaps the most notable feature on the new Note is what Nissan are calling the ‘Squash Line’ which looks a bit like someone has pushed a thumping great iron in to the side of the Note to leave an indentation.
The new Note is a more dynamic shape than the current model yet Nissan say it’s as commodious, with Nissan claiming it is ‘beyond expectations for a car in its class’.
Interesting innovations for the new Note include Nissan’s Around View Monitor to help with parking and a new set of engines.
The engines on offer in the JDM Note – and likely to arrive in the UK version – include the new supercharged 3-pot DIG-S petrol engine we’ve already seen in the new Micra, as well as the first outing for the new Nissan lightweight CVT ‘box.
The Nissan Note will launch in Japan in September, but it looks like the Uk and Europe will have to wait until 2013.
