New Renault Scenic – UK prices and models
Wed, 03 Jun 2009New Renault Scenic prices announced for the UK
Renault are making big play of how cheap the new Scenic is, saying it costs over £2,000 less than the Ford C-Max, and the new range starts at over £2,000 less than the old model. Which, in these constrained times, is not bad news at all.
But the range of Scenic models and options is a little confusing, to say the least. It’s almost as bad as trying to decide which Porsche 911 you want (if not quite as interesting!). There are a total of 28 versions to choose from in five different trim levels – Extreme, Expression, Dynamique, TomTom Edition and Privilège. Prices range from a modest £13,595 to a quite large £22,295.
There are a total of eight engines in the range, offering from 85bhp to 158bhp, but of these, three are new to the Scenic – 1.4 TCe 130, 2.0 VVT 140 CVT and 2.0 dCi 160 FAP.
Standard kit across the range includes a decent RDS/CD/MP3 sound system, air conditioning, ESP, front and rear curtain airbags and iPod connection. At the top end you get dual-zone climate control, electric folding mirrors, part leather upholstery and rear parking sensors.
First new Renault Scenics will arrive in UK showrooms on 17th July.
