New SEAT Leon SC (2013) revealed
Tue, 12 Feb 2013The new SEAT Leon SC – the 3-door sibling to the Leon – has been revealed ahead of a debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show in March.
The new SEAT Leon SC is actually a different car from the windscreen on back, with a more steeply raked front and back screens, just the two (longer) and a shorter wheelbase – by 35mm. So although at first glance the Leon SC looks like it’s just lost a pair of doors, the job is more thorough.
SEAT may have made a big effort with the 3-door to distinguish its looks and dynamics from the 5-door SEAT Leon, but the interior crosses over intact, although rear leg room is less thanks to the shorter wheelbase.
Under the bonnet stays the same on the SC too, so diesel options are the frugal 1.6 litre TDI, with the promise of 74mpg, and the 2.0 litre TDI, and petrol options are 1.2 litre TSI with 105bhp, 1.4 TSI with 138bhp and 1.8 TSI with 178bhp – at least for now – and trim levels are the same as the 5-door too with S, SE and FR trim on offer.
The 2013 SEAT Leon SC will debut at the Geneva Motor Show before going on sale, and we’re expecting prices to be a touch lower than the 5-door. Think a starting point of around £14,995.
