New Toyota iQ3 launched
Fri, 19 Jun 2009Toyota has launched a new version of the iQ - The Toyota iQ3 - with a bigger engine and spec
The Toyota iQ3 gets Toyota’s 1.33 litre 98bhp VVT-i engine with Optimal Drive, which Toyota already offer in the Yaris and Auris, and offers 58.9mpg with either the manual ‘box or Toyota’s CVT. But sticking the 1.33 litre engine in to the Toyota iQ3 makes it more than just a city car. With a 0-60mph of 11.8 seconds and a top speed over 100mph, this little Toyota can cope with motorway driving quite well.
The Toyota iQ3 also features Toyota’s stop start technology which can yield improvements in economy of up to 15% in city driving. Thanks to a permanently engaged gear mechanism (even when in neutral) the iQ3 can re-start in just 0.4 seconds, giving a seamless drive but offering good improvements in economy.
Standard equipment includes the stuff you already get on the iQ2 - climate control, keyless entry and drive, auto lights and wipers – but adds 16″ alloys, chrome mirrors and exclusive paint job.
The costs £11,495 for the manual version and £12,495 with the CVT, and you can add one of four option packs which include everything from Bluetooth to spoilers. Other options include leather (£690) and SatNav (£930).
You can read all the details in the Toyota iQ3 Press Release.
