Volkswagen has released details of the New Mk VI VW Golf Estate

[ad#ad-1]

We’ve had a chunk of VW releases lately, and several on the new Volkswagen Golf. We reported earlier on the VW Golf GTI Worthersee Concept car, and this afternoon early information and pictures have surfaced of the next Golf release – the new VW Golf Estate.

Planned to be released at the end of the year, the new Golf Estate gets the same front end treatment as the new hatchback. A new nose for a new generation is great, and a smart looking front end it is, but VW seem to have lost their way a bit with the back. It looks just like a Golf hatch at the front, but when you get round the back it looks a bit like the designer lost his will to live before he’s finished. Uninspiring doesn’t even start to describe it.

Still, it will be a good car, and it will sell to the ultra-conservative buyer looking for VW reliability and Golf longings who needs more space. But shouldn’t VW be trying to entice new buyers in with something a little more inspiring?

The new Golf Estate gets the same engines pretty much as its hatchback brother. VW has thrown in a couple of ‘First-Time’ options for a Golf Estate, including Park Assist and reversing Camera. On the inside the Golf Estate gets a new set of instruments and the latest three-spoke steering wheel.

Deliveries are expected to start in the UK early in 2010, with prices from around £15,000
