New world record for most cars pulled by one man
Wed, 04 Dec 2013Ever had to push start a car? Not easy to get that big old lump of automobile moving, is it? Imagine trying to pull a car instead. Now imagine trying to pull 12 cars, all at once. We’ve developed a hernia just thinking about it.
Yet five-times world’s strongest man champion, Zydrunas Savickas, has done just that – towing 12 brand new Nissan Notes over five metres to set a new Guinness World Record for ‘the most cars pulled by one man’.

Savickas set the new record in a single attempt, at an event that marked the end of his home country of Lithuania’s Car of the Year test camp. He drew quite a crowd.
Even though the latest Nissan Note is 21kg lighter than its predecessor, 12 of them tied together still represents a staggering 12,941kg. That’s very nearly 13 tonnes. It took him all of 32.9 seconds to cover the five-metre course.
Savickas was presented with a certificate from Guinness World Records on the spot – well, would you keep a 6 ft 3in man who weighs 170kg and can pull a dozen cars weighting?
This is the second record Nissan has participated in this during 2013; in August it helped the Electric Vehicle Union and the Norwegian EV Association set a Guiness World Record for the number of electric vehicles driven in unison.
The total was 260 and a half – thanks to a large number of Nissan Leafs that took part, including the Nissan Half Leaf MSN Cars drove earlier this year.
