Nissan Resonance SUV: 2013 Detroit Auto Show
Thu, 17 Jan 2013The Nissan Resonance SUV Concept has been revealed at the Detroit Auto Show, previewing many design cues for the next generation Nissan Murano.
The Resonance Concept has been designed by Nissan’s design team in California with what Nissan are calling ‘boldly futuristic aerodynamic styling’ and gets a hybrid powertrain with a 2.5 litre ICE engine with a pair of electric motors, CVT ‘box and a laminated lithium-ion battery pack.
The Resonance gets a design they’re calling ‘V-Motion’, which is meant to flow the design through the car from the front grill, move through the bonnet with the boomerang headlights adding to the flow. Strong crease lines move through the flanks to a kick-up shape at the rear, with a ‘floating’ roof with full-length panoramic roof and great big 22″ alloys completing the look.
Inside, Nissan say the Resonance was imagined as ‘First Class Space Travel’ and have created a ‘VIP’ lounge with lots of leather, ambient lighting, natural wood, a floating instrument panel with graphically layered information for a holographic like experience and heavily sculptured door panels an deep centre console.
It’s all very ‘Concepty’, but if you strip away the concept frippery you’re looking at a car that is most of the way to the next generation Nissan Murano.
