Now it’s the Hyundai Veloster in Harrods’ window
Fri, 03 Aug 2012Harrods is hosting a ‘Korea Loves London – Innovation and Technology 2012’ exhibition and the centrepiece of the window display is a Hyundai Veloster.
This isn’t the first time Hyundai has had a spot in a Harrods window.
Two years ago, when the Hyundai ix35 was fresh and new, Hyundai took over a window at Harrods to show off its compact SUV to the visiting shoppers, perhaps in the hope one or two would grab one for the Nanny.
Now Hyundai are back at Harrods, this time with a new Veloster taking up window space as part of an exhibition celebrating Korean technology, a display that includes not just the Veloster but robots, interactive screens and automated appliances (and, we hope, the right flag).
Harrods invited the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (Kotra) to supply suitable exhibits to showcase South Korea’s technology to Harrods’ visitors and footfall along the Brompton Road, and the Veloster is the center point of the window display.
The Hyundai Veloster will be on display until 25th August in the hope that London’s Olympic visitors will clock the profile of Korean technology and go home thinking ‘I must have one of those Harrods Hyundais’.
But we do wonder if the predominantly female nature of Hyundai’s UK PR office could have anything to do with Hyundai’s insatiable lust for a Harrods window or two?
Perish the thought.
