A massive land train used to haul goods and people across the vast open land of Alaska
In its glory years, the mighty Alaskan Land Train could haul 150 tons of cargo across the frozen northern wastes. Sadly, helicopters -- cool as they are -- rendered the monster obsolete. The Land Train no longer exists, but its legend lives on: it still holds the world record for the longest off-road vehicle.
There may be some changes coming to the Mini lineup in the near future, so now's a good time to look back at a commercial that flew under our radar when it was released a few years ago. We have to wonder: is the ad implying that the Mini Cooper handles just barely better than possessed, territorial shopping carts?
