One Lap of the Web: Scottsdale oddballs, a lost Morris and in-home car washes
Tue, 28 Jan 2014
A man in the UK purchased an old Morris Isis...then forgot about it in the back of his garage for 12 years. When he rediscovered the car and cleared all the trash off, he also learned it was one of the oldest of its kind in the world. While we have a few questions, not the least of which is "how does one forget a car parked in the garage," we're pleased to see that the owner has since restored the car and plans to strap a trailer on the back and take it to the beach later this summer.
The recent Arizona auction action would have been a good place to score your own Morris Isis if you wished, or any one of many weird, rare and just plain oddball cars that came under the gavel. Hagerty Insurance was on the ground in Scottsdale and they've put together a list of the five weirdest cars that got auctioned last week.
If you're having a winter like us (and many of you are) you're spending a lot of time at the car wash. No more -- for a mere $34,000 (est) installed, you can have your own in-home car wash rig to dispose of all the salt and snow. Heck, you could even use it to rinse the rubbish off the vintage Morris you found in the back of your garage. Seriously...have you checked to see if there's one there?
