One Lap of the Web: supercars and not-so-super cars

-- This has been a busy week for 'Ring records, and it's only Wednesday. The latest unconfirmed report is that the McLaren P1 may have set a time of 6:47 around the course. That would make it the fastest car to ever lap the course, being a full second faster than the Radical SR8 LM. Once again: this is an unconfirmed time, but given the P1's stats it doesn't seem implausible.
-- Check out what Hooniverse is fielding in the upcoming 24 Hours of Lemons Halloween Hooptiefest at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. It has reliability on its side, we'll say that much. And the racing stripes should give it an extra 20 hp boost, at least. The astroturf covering on the hood is actually an aerodynamic trick -- just wait to see how much wind resistance it'll be able to cut.
-- A yellow De Tomaso Pantera has allegedly emerged from its 24 year slumber inside a trailer, and is for sale on the eBays. The seller writes: "We found this car in a tractor trailer body behind a widow's house and brought it home to sort it out." So there's no need to bring a trailer -- this Pantera comes with its own trailer.
-- We've noted that for some reason there is a concentration of Trabants in the Washington DC area (because it's our job to know such things), and there's one on sale on eBay right now out of Glen Burnie, MD, that looks like it might bring serious money. And by serious, we mean north of $3,000.
