One lap of the Web: A Ferrari F40, Sebastian Vettel and random acts of 'squandering'

Thu, 30 May 2013

We spend a lot of time on the Internet -- pretty much whenever we're not driving, writing about or working on cars. Since there's more out there than we'd ever be able to cover, here's our daily digest of car stuff on the Web you may not otherwise have heard about.

-- Blood pumping, screaming your lungs out -- do you remember that first joyride during your formative years? Petrolicious staffer Alan Franklin details how riding sideways in a Ferrari F40 changed his life.

-- Formula One triple world champion Sebastian Vettel takes an F1-inspired Renault Twizy all-electric hatchback for a spin at the automaker's testing facility in France. His first response: "It's funny without noise."

-- Lawrence Horan is suing Bank of America after the company allowed his millionaire (but mentally unstable) brother, Jeffery, to "squander money" after allegedly buying a $460,000 Lamborghini and $72,000 Mercedes-Benz for a pair of random strangers.

-- Industry analysts say now is a great time to buy a car, as new models combine greater fuel efficiency with more powerful engines, and car loans can be stretched to up to eight years.

-- Nissan has pulled advertisements from Facebook until the social media site can guarantee the automaker's ads will not appear on pages with offensive content.
