Pagani Huayra

Wed, 26 Jan 2011

Following on from where the Zonda hypercar left off, is the latest offering from Pagani: the Huayra. An all0new car from the small scale Italian manufacturer, the Huayra does its bit for climate change. By downsizing from the AMG-sourced 7.0-liter V12 to a new 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12, the Huayra sees an increase in power whilst lowering emissions.

The Huayra's exterior is a clear evolution of the infamous Zonda shape, with the new car retaining a similar silhouette and DRG. At the front, four individual headlights flank the car's new open-grilled lower fascia; the elliptical opening dominates the car's DRG and is a clear departure from the Zonda. Another nostalgic reference comes around the rear of the car, with the Huayra retaining the trademark four exhaust set up, albeit surrounded by another elliptical bumper vent that mimicks the frontal appearance.

A key feature of the new car's exterior is the inclusion of gullwing doors that allow access to the all-new interior, which features details as intricate as those on the Zonda. The flamboyant mix of leathers, carbon fiber, metal work and unique switchgear across the IP are to be expected of such an ostentatious Italian super car. The new LCD entertainment screen that dominates the minimal IP features a plethora of functions for the cabin.
