Pagani Huayra documentary video released on YouTube

We know that the first deliveries of the Pagani Huayra will start in April. We know the company plans to produce 25 examples this year and about 40 in 2013. But with a new video released by Pagani, we finally know the whole story.

Pagani released a 15-minute video on its YouTube channel on March 10 called the “Pagani Huayra Story—A Documentary.” The company talks with designers and developers and gives lots of details about the manufacture of the supercar. If you have a quarter-hour to kill, this is a good way to do it.

You might remember the Huayra's trip stateside hit a snafu when it was denied an airbag exemption by U.S. safety officials in August. The company said it wouldn't sell cars in the States until 2015 without the waiver.

The Pagani Huayra uses a twin-turbocharged Mercedes V12 engine that makes 700 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. Upgraded models deliver 730 hp and 811 lb-ft of twist for a 0-to-62-mph time of 3.3 seconds. The price of the Huayra is expected to be about $1.37 million.
