Peugeot 2008
Mon, 07 Jan 2013Peugeot has revealed the first pictures of the production model of its new B-segment supermini crossover, the 2008.
We saw the 2008 Concept unveiled in Paris last year and from the new pictures it's obvious that the final model isn't too different. Interior shots haven't been released yet, so we'll have to wait and see what changes have been made.
The 2008 features redesigned front and rear fenders with a ‘floating grille' that sits underneath the scalloped bonnet, containing two horizontal bars. A thick air intake is set into the black fender between silver-framed fog lamps, while front and rear stainless steel underbody protection help to give the car a rugged look.
The sculpted headlamps are designed to give the outline appearance of a cat's pupil and incorporate LED day running lamps. At the rear the wide tailgate is framed by the sharp lamps that extend forwards onto the sides.
A slender feature line runs along both sides sitting above pronounced wheelarches while the stepped roofline and roof rails help increase headroom. Door handles that were lacking on the concept have been added while the wing mirrors have also increased in size. Tall windows and a full-length panoramic roof are designed to create a light, airy interior.
The 2008 will make its debut in Geneva in March, and is set to go on sale in late summer next year.
