Peugeot 207 Verve – 2010 updates
Mon, 21 Dec 2009Peugeot has updated the 207 Verve for 2010
Now I don’t want you to get too excited at the prospect of the 2010 updates on the Peugeot 207 Verve. They’re not what you’d call extensive.
In fact the only bit of any real significance is that the 207 Verve gets extra engine choices. Two, to be precise. Already on offer are the 1.4 litre petrol with 75bhp and the 1.4 litre diesel with 70bhp. Thankfully, Peugeot has decided that if they’re going to badge a car ‘Verve’ they really ought to offer something that offers a little verve in the performance department.
Which means that the two new engines on offer do offer more. You can have the 95bhp version of the 1.4 VTi and there’s a new 1.6 litre HDi diesel with 90bhp. Both of which are a lot less wheezy than the existing lumps. The 1.4 VTi makes 60 mph in 3 seconds less than the existing 1.4, and the new 1.6 HDi cuts a massive 4 seconds off the sprint.
And what’s even better is that the 1.4 VTi is as economical as the existing 1.4 and the new 1.6 HDi is more economical than the existing 1.4 diesel. Yes, there’s a price penalty for the better engines, but less than £400 on the petrol and less than £700 on the diesel.
Peugeot has also added three new colours for the Verve – Aluminium, Shark Grey and Moroccan Red – and sales kick of in January 2010.
