One unexpected bonus of driving a van with windows came at the local branch of Waitrose when I noticed the look I was getting from a fellow shopper as we both unloaded our respective trolley’s contents into our respective boots. While he hurried to empty his shopping trolley in the heavy rain I stayed lovely and dry under the protection of the enormous tailgate as I leisurely unloaded mine. This will never be a particularly cool car but the cool level must rise ever so slightly when other motorists express a sliver of envy, if only for that one small thing.
Families with children spend more of their time ferrying their children – whose lives have become ever busier – to more and more apparently pressing” social” engagements (or is that just me?). Piling enough bikes, equipment and endless paraphernalia in for a weekend away is a problem in almost any car. The cost of purchase and the cost of running are becoming more important to families than having the coolest car on the block.
So in these constrained times practicality and economy is almost the new cool (or at least I’m trying hard to convince myself it is). Which makes this Peugeot cool (even if my daughter did threaten to wear a bag over her head the first time I picked her up from school in it) in a practical and functional way.
It will happily cope with all the jobs you want done, it is just about cool enough for your children to stomach being seen in (once teenage daughters get used to it) and will do all this economically, comfortably and above all practically.
This isn’t just a van with windows – a phrase that brings to mind a beaten up old minibus on some works outing – this is much more than that; it’s a well equipped car in a van’s body. And one that costs about the same as an average super mini.
For moving you and yours around – stuff and offspring – the Peugeot Partner Teepee Outdoor is a actually a crackingly good choice.
Even if it will cost you a few bob for bags for your teenage daughter’s head for the first few weeks.
