Porsche Cayenne (2010 / 2011) teased
Sat, 13 Feb 2010Porsche has 'Teased' the 2010/2011 Cayenne on its UK website
Blimey, even Porsche are now playing the ‘Tease’ game with new car launches. What’s the world coming too? But this tease of the 2011 Porsche Cayenne is a little more subtle than the endless bombardment of teaser photos we get from many car makers these days. Porsche hid the tease from the press, instead they’re using it as the header image on their public websites.
The other day we reported on the Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid track car and as usual we got a set of pictures and some bumph from Porsche. But the picture you see at the top (we’ve highlighted the Cayenne in the background) wasn’t amongst the photos Porsche sent us. But it is on Porsche UK‘s site in a very prominent position at the top.
The photo of the 2010 Cayenne doesn’t really tell us anything – we’ve reported on spy shots of the 2011 Cayenne which are far more interesting – but it’s a bit of fun (Fun? From a German car maker?) from Porsche to subtly tease in the reveal of the latest Cayenne next week (I know, we keep swapping between 2010 Cayenne and 2011 Cayenne, but it’s both depending on which side of the Pond you live).
Just like its sibling – the 2010/2011 VW Touareg - the latest Cayenne will be getting a pretty good workover and will be launching with the usual choice of powertrains – from a 3 litre V6 diesel through to the 4.8 litre turbo V8 – but will also get a Hybrid option – a 326bhp Supercharged 3.3 litre from Audi with a 46bhp electric motor attached – for the first time in a Porsche, although it seems likely the Panamera will also get the hybrid option some time soon.
We’re promised the reveal of the new Cayenne early next week, so more news then.
