Porsche Panamera Turbo S – Shanghai debut
Tue, 29 Mar 2011The Porsche Panamera Turbo S - to be revealed at the Shanghai Motor Show
Just as we expected, the Porsche Panamera has turned out to be yet another cash cow for Porsche, following on from the very successful Cayenne and proving conclusively that’s it’s the passenger carrying Porsches that sell the best – and make the money.
So far with the Panamera we’ve had everything from the £62k V6 Diesel through to the £102k Panamera Turbo, and we know the Panamera Diesel and the Panamera Hybrid are already in the pipeline. But now comes news of another Panamera variant – the Porsche Panamera Turbo S.
The Panamera Turbo S is hardly a surprise as it’s become a typical Porsche move when a model is well through its lifecycle. This time last year we got the Porsche 911 Turbo S with an extra 30bhp and some extra toys for an additional £13k, and now it seems its the turn of the Panamera.
Expect the Panamera to come with a few more additional horses – probably around 550bhp on tap – which should put the big Porsche down to something around 3.8 seconds 0-60mph.
You can probably expect the price to go up to around £120k but you will get goodies like ceramic brakes and Sport design Package in the price.
The clever money is on a Shanghai reveal next month – two years on from the original Panamera launch.
