Porsche releases accessories for owners who want to upgrade
Mon, 10 May 2010Porsche is making it possible for owners of older cars to add some modern- or classic-looking equipment.
The classic look comes from the availability of 19-inch wheels styled to replicate the look of the Fuchs rims used on the 911 Sport Classic in 1966. The wheel's five spokes are painted black with a silver look to the outer rim and the Porsche logo in color on the wheel hub. The wheels, which include tires, are available for all-wheel-drive versions of the 911 Carrera, the Targa and the Turbo.
Owners of a Boxster, Cayman, 911 and Panamera with Porsche's PDK dual-clutch transmission can get the three-spoke steering wheel with shift paddles that is used in the 911 Turbo. The wheel can also be fitted to the redesigned Cayenne with Tiptronic S transmission when it goes on sale later this year.
For the exterior, the Aerokit Cup package for the 911 Carrera coupe adopts the look from the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercar cars. The kit includes a new front fascia and a rear engine cover with integrated spoiler.
Owners of a 911 Cabriolet and Targa can go with a Sport Design front fascia that complements the factory-original rear spoiler.
