Land Rover have made some very good changes to the 2010 versions of their cars. Across the range – especially the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport – the changes have made what had become just good cars back in to great cars. And actually, it’s the Range Rover Sport that’s benefited most.

Coincidentally, we’re running around in a 2010 Range Rover Sport at the moment, so more detail on the 2010 updates later this week, but suffice to say it has become a much more desirable car. Which rather begs the question, is spending £21k on a bit of Kahn titivation worthwhile? For that is what Kahn will relieve you of for the changes they’ve made to the RRS TDV8 to create the Kahn RS300. Although you can spend far, far more if you wish.

As you would expect, the Kahn titivate has added more bling to the recipe. You get a set of Kahn wheels and upgraded tyres (thick end of £3k), a wodge of styling details such as wider arches sills and spoilers (£5k), interior tweaks such as quilted leather seats and badges (£3k+) all of which make your RRS have far more WAG-appeal.

More interesting are the Cosworth upgrades, which essentially comprise of throwing some extra horses at the TDV8. Land Rover endow it with 268bhp, but the Cosworth tweaks shove that up to a more desirable 300bhp. But that’s about it from Cosworth, apart from some badges and a new carbon fibre engine cover. And this bit of the conversion costs £4.5k. Throw in an extra £500 for a year’s warranty on the engine and you have a £5k bill for the extra grunt. Hmm.

Of course, you could just take your very well-specced 2010 RRS TDV8 off to Superchips. They would relieve you of less than £500 and give your RRS 321bhp.

But that would be subtle. And not at all WAG-tastic. Which is, after all, Kahn’s raison d’etre.
