Renault Frendzy concept
Thu, 07 Jul 2011Renault has revealed details of the Frendzy concept ahead of its anticipated debut at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show. Fully electric, and with an asymmetrical design, the compact vehicle is the fourth 'life-cycle' concept to be unveiled since Laurens van den Acker took over from Patrick leQuement.
Designed by Deyan Denkov (exterior) and RCA graduate Ana Zadnik (interior), the Frendzy's design blends the utility of a commercial business vehicle and the comfort of a family car. It features a series of innovations such as a 37-inch digital screen on the driver side sliding rear door; unique 'sound signatures' for both the exterior and interior; a fabric roof that adapts to the shape of bulky objects; magnetic fixings to secure loads to the floor; a slate board in the rear cabin; a touch-sensitive pad that slides out from driver's seat; and two color ambient lighting settings to differentiate family and work time.
The concept measures just over 4m long, 1872mm wide and 1743mm tall. It rides on a 2691mm-long wheelbase.
