Renault Laguna Facelift (2011)
Fri, 03 Sep 2010The Renault Laguna Facelift 2011 - will; debut at the Paris Motor Show
Just like yesterday with the Citroen C4 Picasso Facelift, this Renault Laguna Facelift is about having new product to show to the world at the Paris Motor Show in a few week’s time. After all, the Paris Motor Show is as much Renault’s home show as it is Citroen’s (or Peugeot’s, for that matter)
So we get a Renault Laguna tweaked to take it in to 2011, some three years after the Laguna first hit the road. The easiest way to make a car look fresh is a nose job, and that’s exactly what the 2011 Laguna gets.
There’s a new grill and the front bumper gets a bit of reshaping to bring it in line with Renault’s latest design language. And actually, that looks about it for the cosmetics – it’s about as radical as yesterday’s Picasso. In fact the Laguna Coupe doesn’t even get the new nose.
The oily bits on the Laguna get the required tweaks to make them Euro 5 compliant before the new regulations come in to force in January 2011 and Renault are letting buyers add 4ControlĀ four wheel steering to the dCi180. Big of them.
There are going to be trim changes and stuff like Carminat TomTom and Bose being bandied around. But for some reason Renault aren’t going to divvy up specs and prices until after Paris. Odd.
The Renault Laguna hasn’t exactly lit up the sales charts and we can’t see these very minor tweaks making any difference against strong competition like the newly tweaked Mondeo.
But it gives Renault a couple of ‘New’ cars for their stand in Paris.
