Rolls Royce Wraith interior first photos & RR V16 Roadster planned
Tue, 19 Feb 2013We have the first interior photos of the Rolls Royce Wraith Coupe, and RR seem to be planning a V16 Roadster for 2017.
This tease from RR on the Wraith is a pair of interior photos that don’t give away much, but do show the levels of elegance RR is working in to the Wraith, despite its sporting pretensions.
We get a photo of the clock in the Wraith, a simple analogue white face with Blood Orange needle tips, a chrome bezel, Piano Black surround all housed in a chrome plate with ‘WRAITH’ and ‘RR’ prominently displayed.
The second photo shows a door panel from the Wraith covered in open-pore wood Rolls Royce describe as ‘Canadel Panelling’.
In related news, CAR is reporting that Rolls Royce are planning a V16 Roadster for 2017. Petrolheads may remember that RR was planning to give the Phantom a V16, a fact that got prominence when Rowan Atkinson managed to acquire a 9.0 litre V16 Phantom Coupe from Rolls Royce for the second Johnny English film, but Rolls Royce lost their nerve before production of the Phantom started.
It seems Rolls Royce aren’t trying to take on the Veyron with immense power and a huge cylinder count but are looking to build the ultimate luxury Roadster instead – which should make the ‘Perpetually For Sale’ one-off Rolls Royce Hyperion look even more pointless than it already is.
Finally, CAR say that Rolls Royce are also considering an RR SUV as an answer to the Bentley SUV, although no decision has been taken on whether or not an SUV is the way to go. Please, Rolls Royce. leave the decision untaken.
The Rolls Royce Wraith will be unveiled tomorrow. More from RR then.
