Rolls Royce Wraith: First tease photo of Ghost Coupe
Tue, 22 Jan 2013The first tease photo of the Rolls Royce Wraith – a coupe version of the Ghost – has been revealed ahead of a Geneva Motor Show debut.
It’s only been a few days since Rolls Royce told us that the Ghost Coupe will be the Rolls Royce Wraith, and we were expecting a few teaser photos surface in the next couple of months as the Wraith gets close to a reveal at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
But it looks like we might have to hunker down for an endless series of teases for the Wraith between now and March as the first teaser photo for the Wraith – a shadowy view of it in profile – has already been released.
What we see is a sleek two door coupe with long doors, a more raked windscreen and a roofline that moves sharply down to the tail – just as we saw in the spy video of the Wraith.
The Wraith will sit on a a shorter wheelbase than the Ghost and get an uprated version of the Ghost’s 6.6 litre V12, expected to produce something in the region of 600bhp.
It looks like Rolls Royce are going to make the most of the Wraith tease, and all they actually had to say when they sent us the tease photos is:
The graceful silhouette gives expression to a bold and thoroughly contemporary luxury motor car. Flowing lines hint at the extraordinary power and dynamic promise of the most powerful Rolls-Royce in history, yet also highlight design cues that can be traced through the model generations.
Rolls-Royce Wraith evokes the pioneering spirit and lust for adventure that drove company forefather the Honourable Charles Rolls – the consummate gentleman racer. But like Rolls, Wraith will also be steeped in the trappings of luxury and opulence.
When Wraith is present, for that fleeting moment, the world will stand still.
Expect more hyperbole, a drip feed of tease photos and technical detail as the Rolls Royce Wraith moves towards its Geneva debut.
