Rubens Barrichello does Top Gear

Top Gear does like to get a Formula One driver or two to drive their track in a reasonably priced car. They’ve not managed to grab the whole grid yet – and they’ve also included a few golden oldies like Nigel Mansell and Damon Hill – but a lot of the big names seem to be persuaded it’s a bit of fun worth having.
The top contenders this year have all been to the TG track, bar one. Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton have both made an appearence, as has Mark Webber. Sebastian Vettel hasn’t had a go yet but Herr Schumacher the elder has, albeit in a Ferrari FXX rather than the reasonably priced car (to be fair I don’t think we can call MS a contender this year). But we guess Ferrari drivers consider TG beneath them. Or at least Alonso does.
The best time to grab a driver to play during the season is in the run up to the British Grand Prix. Which just happens to be this weekend. And TG have managed to persuade one of the good guys of the F1 grid – and the longest serving – to come and play.
Rubens Barrichello has been out playing in the old reasonably priced car yesterday at Dunsfold with the Stig, and his lap will be one of the higlights of this coming weekend’s show. No word on his time, but as he’s Tweeted his followers to check out the show on Sunday for his time we guess he’s not disappointed.
