The 3 door SEAT Mii – SEAT’s take on the VW Up – arrives in the UK this week in S, S A/C, Ecomotive, SE and Sport guise. Starts at £7,845.
The SEAT Mii – the Spanish take on the VW Up City car – arrived back in October, with Europe getting the Mii at the end of 2011. But the UK has had to wait a bit longer for production of RHD Miis to come online, but SEAt has now opened the order book for the Mii in the UK with first deliveries in June.
SEAT has adopted the same trim levels for the Mii as the rest of the SEAT range, so the range kicks of with the Mii S with the 1.0 litre 3-cylinder 60 PS engine. The Mii S is very much entry-level time, with black plastic door handles and mirrors and steel wheels without hub caps. Equipment is basic – although there is a CD player with AUX connections. Move up to the Mii S A/C and you get AirCon.
The eco version of the Mii is the Ecomotive 1.0 60 PS which gets stop-start and energy recovery allowing 67.3mpg economy and emissions of 96g/km. Extra kit over and above the Mii S A/C includes electric front windows, body coloured plastics and wheel covers outside and remote locking for £9,180
If you’re not going to get any real benefits from the 96g/km Ecomotive then you’re better off opting for the Mii SE. With the 60 PS engine the Mii SE costs just £95 more than the Ecomotive (you can also have the Mii SE with the 75 PS engine and auto ‘box at £10,390) and adds 14″ alloys, leather steering wheel, electric heated door mirrors and funkier interior.
The sport Mii is the Mii Sport which get the 75 PS engine, fogs, privacy glass, 15″ alloys, lowered suspension and tweaks to the interior including gloss grey dash, trim highlights and a darker upholstery design.
The SEAT Mii 3 door is now up for grabs in the UK, and if you need a frugal city car it makes so much more sense than any hybrid or EV ever will.
