The Skoda Citigo – Skoda’s version of the VW Up! and SEAT Mii – goes on sale in June from £7,630 for the Citigo S 1.0 MPI.

The announcement of price and specification details for the Skoda Citigo completes the three versions of VW’s Up City Car from the VW Group, with the Citigo undercutting the SEAT Mii by £215 and the VW Up! by £365. Not a lot, but every little helps.

Starting point in the Citigo range is the S model with the 54bhp 1.0 litre 3-pot engine. Just like SEAT’s entry-level Mii it’s a bargain basement car with 14″ steel wheels and a basic spec. Still, at £7,630 – and £7,980 for the 5-door – it’s a cheap little city runaround that’ll do 68.9mpg and emit 105g/km.

If you use the Citigo in London it’s probably worth opting for one of the Citigo Green Tech models – in Elegance or SE spec – that’ll get you under the 100g/m emissions for no congestion charge and start at £8,890.

Moving up from the S trim level, the SE throws in a better spec with electric front windows, body coloured mirrors and handles, central locking and AirCon.

Top of the tree is the Citigo Elegance – which you can have with 3 or 5 doors with manual or ASG ‘box from £9,470 – and adds electric heated mirrors, 14″ alloys, heated front seats, fogs and leather steering wheel to the kit. You also get Skoda’s Portable Infotainment Device which brings navigation, Bluetooth and multimedia to the Citigo party in a removable device.

The Skoda Citigo goes on sale in the UK in June.
