Skoda Rapid SE Connect and Rapid Sport Limited Editions announced

January isn’t the hottest sales month for car makers, so a limited edition or two to get footfall in car showrooms is a good idea. So Skoda has revealed a pair of Rapid special editions for the UK in the Rapid SE Connect and Rapid Sport to put a bit of extra fizz in sales.

The Skoda Rapid SE Connect starts life as a a Rapid SE with the 85bhp 1.2 litre petrol engine and comes in either Brilliant Silver or Denim Blue with 16″ alloys, parking sensors, SatNav and DAB.

Skoda say the extra kit on the SE Connect would cost  £3,665 if you added it to the SE, but Skoda will only relieve you of £12,990. Skoda are building just 800 Rapid SE Connects.

The second limited edition – the Rapid Sport – is also based on the Rapid SE with the more powerful 104bhp version of the 1.2 litre petrol, and it’s Hobson’s choice on colour – it’s Candy White or nothing.

As befits a ‘Sport’ model, the Rapid Sport gets bigger, 17″, black alloys, Fogs, sports seats, black door mirrors, rear spoiler and sunset glass, and at £15,630 you’re getting £1,250 of extra kit for an extra £280. Skoda are building just 200 Rapid Sports.

Both the Skoda Rapid SE Connect and Rapid Sport Limited Editions are now on sale.
