Skoda Yeti Urban: It’s a limited edition Yeti

The Skoda Yeti Urban is a limited edition Yeti for the UK with cosmetic tweaks and extra kit. Costs from £16,900.
Perhaps it’s because winter is now coming to a close and car buyers’ minds are wandering off to cabriolets instead of SUVs. Or maybe it’s because the Skoda Yeti has finally got to the point where every one built isn’t snapped up by eager buyers. But whichever it is, Skoda has launched a limited edition Yeti.
The Skoda Yeti Urban will be built in limited numbers – just 750 – and is based on the Yet’s mid-range trim level – the Yeti SE. Skoda has then thrown in stuff like 17″ black and chrome alloys, roof rails, side stripes, wheel arch extensions, roof rails and silver door mirrors. And you can be pretty sure the Skoda Yeti Urban will have the same sort of residuals as the rest of the Yeti range.
Inside there’s sports seats (in red or black), Cruise, DAB, SatNav and Bluetooth and a centre armrest with a cubbyhole underneath. You also get DAB, the first time Skoda has stuck a DAB radio in as standard. Colour choices are Black Magic pearl effect, Candy White, Brilliant Silver metallic and Steel Grey metallic and it all adds up to an extra £2,450 of kit for the Yeti Urban.
If you want to make your Yeti Urban even more individual, Skoda dealers have extra options you can tick including stainless steel pedals (£80), sports exhaust trim (£50), and Nextbase Click 9 Lite Duo portable DVD player with twin 9-inch screens (£315).
Under the bonnet you only get a choice of 2WD, but you can have either the 1.2 litre TSI petrol with 104bhp at £16,900 or the 2.0 litre TDI with 108bhp at £18,330. Frankly, unless you’re planning on blatting all round the country in your Yeti Urban, the petrol engine is the pick.
Skoda UK say the Yeti Urban is up for grabs from the start of April.
