Spring Mountain opens Cadillac V-Series Academy

While half the country is slogging through snow this time of year, some of you -- like Cadillac -- are prepping for the racetrack. The Cadillac V-Series Academy at Nevada’s Spring Mountain Resort and Country Club is now open to the public.

The resort, just outside Las Vegas, has four miles of racetrack and 125 feet of elevation change. Cadillac says the coursework will be tailored to the V-Series family including the 556-hp Cadillac CTS-V. The curriculum was designed by racing great Ron Fellows.

“This new partnership with Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch opens a new experience in a truly luxurious setting for consumers to enhance their skills and put a series of world-class performance cars to the test,” said Don Butler, vice president of Cadillac marketing.

One-day sessions cost $1,295 while two-day classes will set you back $2,295. Classes are limited to 12 students. For comparison, day-long High Performance Driving classes at the Bondurant School of High Performance Driving in Arizona start at $1,375.

Fellows offers his own performance driving school at the Spring Mountain track. Aspiring racers can also learn to drive the Radical production race car and get a Sports Car Club of America license. Private lessons are also offered. Go to www.springmountainmotorsports.com for more information.
