Spy Shots: Chevy SS caught testing, rendered
Tue, 14 Aug 2012
Way back in June, Autoweek published a speculative rendering of the forthcoming Chevrolet SS. The Zeta-platform, rear-wheel-drive, V8-powered follow-up to the late Pontiac G8 was recently spotted testing by the spy photographers at Chris Doane Automotive. Doane was so inspired by General Motors' nascent performance sedan that he commissioned his own Chevy SS rendering.
Both renderings and Doane's spy shots are in the gallery above. Let us know which version you prefer.
The Chevy SS will go on sale in 2013, as a 2014 model. Hopefully the super-sedan will be ready in time for next year's Woodward Dream Cruise, because we can't imagine a modern four-door that would make a better impression on the crowd.
Stay tuned to autoweek.com for the latest Chevy SS news, photos and specs as we get them.
The Woodward Dream Cruise is a celebration of Detroit's golden age and all things automotive, but the event as we know it today was born in 1995. As we prepare for the Woodward Dream Cruise, we'll be looking back at coverage from past years and keeping you up to date on the latest news. Whether you're looking for Dream Cruise photos, a bit of Woodward Dream Cruise history or recommended hotels and restaurants near Woodward, you'll find it all in Autoweek's Woodward Dream Cruise section.
