Studio Torino offers Porsche Cayman-based Moncenisio
Mon, 10 Jun 2013
Studio Torino, the firm that brought us the little known RK Spider and RK Coupe -- both based on Porsches -- is sending another vehicle to market this November called the Moncenisio.
The Moncenisio is based on the 2013 Porsche Cayman S, and will carry all of the same mechanicals, with a body designed by Daniele Gaglione. That means a power output of 325 hp and 272 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual or seven-speed PDK are offered, and since the buyer is supplying the car for Studio Torino, it's his or her choice. The company says it will deliver the Moncenisio in Turin, approximately three months after it receives the donor Porsche.
Only 20 examples will be produced at a cost of $178,767 after the cost of the Porsche Cayman S, which currently resides $64,750.
The name Moncenisio comes from one of the best-known Alpine passes of the Piedmonte region, famous for its Susa-Moncenisio race, recognized as one of the world's first hill climbs.
After Studio Torino gets the Cayman S it adds a new carbon-fiber front bumper and an aftermarket central radiator, new intakes, leather upholstery, carbon fiber tailgate, a split carbon fiber bumper and loses the side windows.
Buyers also get new exhaust tips, badges, 20-inch forged wheels, a fresh paint job and the Moncenisio logo on the trunk along with a few other visual upgrades.
Studio Torino is only producing 20 examples of the Moncenisio; the RK Coupe and Spider were limited to 49 copies a piece.
