Subaru Exiga
Fri, 20 Jun 2008Subaru has begun selling the new Exiga touring wagon in the Japanese market. According to the company, the seven seat Exiga was developed with 'panoramic visibility for the touring experience' and targets people who enjoy sports driving as well as practicality.
Overall styling of the production car has not been changed much from the Exiga Concept unveiled at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show. The fast and dynamic profile is more akin to sports wagons than to an MPV, while the 'pillarless' D-pillar - a carryover element from the concept - enables a wraparound DLO for a futuristic look.
As expected, the production car has had some details changed, with headlamp, tail lamps and the lower bumper design having been revised. The flat and boxy interior surfaces and tacky wood grain finishes are rather generic, and fail to complete the rather promising exterior design.
The Exiga will be offered in four different models: 2.0i, 2.0i-L, 2.0i-S and the top of the range 2.0 GT.
