Subaru Levorg concept teased ahead of Tokyo debut
Wed, 30 Oct 2013The Subaru Levorg Concept Touring (pictured) will debut at the Tokyo Motor Show
Today it’s the turn of another Japanese car maker to start showing what they’ll be taking to their home motor show in Tokyo next month, with Subaru teasing the Subaru Levorg concept. The Levorg concept – it’s name is made up from Legacy, Revolution and Touring – is said by Subaru to be a Tourer but with the feel of a sports car, whatever that means.
Under the bonnet lurks a 1.6 litre Boxer engine with direct injection turbo tech which, say Subaru, offers smooth performance and green credentials. But they haven’t disclosed how powerful, or economical, it is.
It appears that the Levorg concept is heading in to production, but it also seems likely, at least at first, it will be for Japan only.
Other goodies on Subaru’s stand at Tokyo will include the new engine in the Levorg concept, an updated version of the Vizviv concept we saw at Geneva - the Visviz Evolution – which comes with a hybrid setup comprising a 1.6 litre DIT engine, three electric motors and a CVT ‘box,
Also on show will be a new Cross Sport Design Concept and and the Crossover 7 Concept, a seven-seat SUV said to suit active families.
The Tokyo Motor Show runs from November 3rd to December 1st 2013.
