Subaru unveiled a pair of newcomers at the 2013 Los Angeles Motor Show - a red-hot WRX fast saloon (above) and a concept car depicting the next Legacy (below).
The WRX is a Subaru performance icon, but has been around the block a few times in recent years. First it was a four-door blue and gold rally hero, then it became a sensible hatchback. Now it's back as a saloon again, but - spoiler alert - at present it's only confirmed for US sales.
Under the vented bonnet lies a 268hp/258lb ft boxer turbo engine, sending drive to all four wheels through a six-speed manual or Lineartronic CVT automatic.
Subaru types claim that 80% of the WRX's bodywork is new - for example, even the base of the A-pillar has been moved by 200mm.

The second world debut on the Subaru stand was the new Legacy Concept. Next year marks the silver anniversary of the Legacy badge and this show car is designed to show the future design direction for the range.
Subaru is a major player in the US, selling an estimated 420,000 cars there this year.
